Description

Based on Oakeshott's Type XIIIa specification these swords were used in the 12th to early 13th Century in that transitional period from hardened leather to mail with some plate armor protecting vital areas of the body. The blade is hand forged with mono-tempered 9260 spring steel and flat ground with a handsome satin finish. The fittings are high quality stainless steel, exactly matching Gus's design. The grip is a solid wood core, cord-wrapped for strength with a textured leather over-wrap. The scabbard has a solid wood core, with stainless steel chape and stitched leather wrap.

This sword is a traditional, hand-forged blade inspired by 12th and 13th Century Medieval swords, created for collectors with an appreciation for sword craftsmanship.

Forged from 9260 spring steel  using [forging method, e.g. clay tempering / differential hardening], it combines authentic construction with display-quality presentation.
