Collection: Layaway Scheme T&Cs
Layaway — The Hoard: Terms & Conditions
Layaway — The Hoard is our way of letting you claim something now and pay for it at your own pace — no lenders, no credit checks, no interest. You put down a deposit, we set your treasure aside on The Hoard, you pay it off whenever you can, and it ships the moment it's yours in full. Here are the rules, in plain English.
1. How it works
- Pay a deposit to open a reservation on an eligible item.
- We reserve that item for you and keep it safe on The Hoard — it won't be sold to anyone else.
- You pay off the balance in instalments: any amount, whenever suits you.
- Once the full price is paid, we dispatch it. Items are never dispatched until paid in full.
2. Your deposit
- A deposit is required to open a reservation. The amount is shown on the item's page.
- Paying your deposit reserves the item for you at the price set out in section 4.
3. Paying it off
- No fixed schedule and no minimum instalment — pay what you can, when you can.
- No interest, and no fees, ever.
- We'll send you reminders showing your balance and a link to pay, so you always know exactly where you stand.
- Make your payments through the link in your confirmation and reminder emails.
4. The price you pay
- Your price is fixed at the amount shown when you paid your deposit. It won't change while your reservation is open, whatever happens to that item's price afterwards.
5. How long you have
- In-stock items: up to 12 months from your deposit to pay in full.
- Pre-order items: until the item arrives with us, plus 3 months — or 12 months from your deposit, whichever is later. So a longer wait simply gives you longer, and if a pre-order is delayed, your time extends right along with it.
- "Arrives with us" means the date the item is booked into our warehouse and ready to dispatch.
- We'll remind you along the way. If a reservation is nearing its limit with a balance still outstanding, we'll send you a clear final notice with a deadline before anything changes — we'd always rather you got your treasure than lost your place.
6. More than one reservation
- If you have more than one item on Layaway at the same time, please tell us which reservation a payment is for — a quick note on your order, or a reply to your confirmation email, does it.
- Any payment we receive that isn't clearly labelled will be applied to whichever of your reservations has the earliest completion deadline. If two share the same deadline, it goes to the one with the larger outstanding balance.
- You can contact us to move a payment between your reservations at any time before an item is dispatched.
7. Changing your mind
- You can cancel within 14 days of paying your deposit and receive a full refund of everything you've paid, to your original payment method.
- After 14 days, if you cancel or your reservation lapses, what you've paid is converted to store credit rather than refunded to cash.
- This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
8. Store credit
- Store credit never expires.
- It can be used on anything in our store, but can't be exchanged back for cash.
9. Pre-orders that don't arrive
- If a pre-order is cancelled by the supplier or can't be supplied to us, you'll be offered your choice of: a full refund, or transferring what you've paid to another item, another order, or store credit — whichever you prefer.
10. If we cancel
- In exceptional circumstances we may need to cancel a reservation (for example, if an item genuinely can't be supplied). If we do, you'll receive a full refund of everything you've paid.
11. Your rights
- Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Any questions, just give us a shout — we'd always rather sort it than have you wondering.
