Description

PLEASE NOTE: THESE ARE REPLICA GUNS AND ARE INCAPABLE OF FIRING. THESE ARE TO BE USED AS DECORATIVE ORNAMENTS ONLY

Reproduction of 6 barrels pepper-box revolver made of metal and wooden grips with firing mechanism and rotating gun.

The pepper-box revolver or simply pepperbox (also "pepper-pot", from its resemblance to the household pepper grinder) is a multiple-barrel repeating firearm that has three or more barrels grouped around a central axis.

It mostly appears in the form of a multi-shot handheld firearm. Pepperboxes exist in all ammunition systems: matchlock, wheellock, flintlock, percussion, pinfire, rimfire and centrefire.

The pepperbox was invented in the 1830s and was mainly aimed at the civilian market. Its employment spread rapidly and was popular in the United States from the 1830s until the Civil War.

The item is a movie prop replica. It is designed to resemble in shape, size, weight and basic functionality the firearm it represents. It has basic working parts and/or removable parts and is a genuine Europe made item. The replica comes in its factory card box. Whilst this replica can be cocked and ‘dry fired’, it cannot fire, nor can it be altered to fire live rounds. These are intended for static display and are not to be used outside of your private residence. Frequent use and/or rough play may result in damage to the item.

This model DOES NOT count as a Real Imitation Firearm and as such can be purchased by any person over the age of 18 in the UK. Proof of age will be requested prior to shipping for new customers. To speed this process please email a picture of valid photo ID (such as Driving Licence or Passport showing Date of Birth) at time of purchase by email to help@theswordstall.co.uk or WhatsApp 07793 464823.

Really happy , would have had a five star but the handle stock did dislocated itself when used, only held with one screw, needs two. But as I said , otherwise very authentic and certainly looks the part , I've tightened the one screw as much as I dare and hopefully won't move about.

Many years ago I used to build plastic models of antique firearms, and one of my favourite sets was a Derringer and Pepperbox. I've had a metal replica of the Derringer for a long time, so am now very pleased to reestablish the pairing with the Denix Pepperbox. It's a nice, weighty piece. The 'antique' finish is fairly convincing and the wooden grips look good. I was surprised to discover that it's a double action piece, as most antique firearms appear to be single action. The action on this replica is pretty crisp, with the cannons falling neatly into place on each squeeze of the trigger. Many thanks to Sword Stall for shipping this as a part order whilst waiting for the other part of the order to come back into stock. Nice. :)
