Named after Ryūjin, the legendary dragon deity of the sea in Japanese mythology, this hand-forged katana brings together two of the most powerful symbols in Japanese folklore: the dragon and the ocean.

And bloody hell, does it look good doing it.

The gloss-black saya is decorated with a sweeping golden dragon, but it's the upper section that makes this sword something genuinely unusual. Deep blue gives way to a beautiful white foaming-wave effect, almost like sea spray crashing across the scabbard. Against the black lacquer and gold dragon beneath, it creates a design that reveals more detail the longer you look at it.

The fittings continue the theme beautifully. An antiqued, intricately sculpted dragon tsuba sits behind a traditional black-wrapped tsuka over white same-style panels, while subtle gold accents tie everything back into the saya.

And underneath all that decoration is a blade worthy of the name.

Ryujin features a genuine hand-forged steel blade, traditionally clay tempered to create differential hardening and a natural hamon within the steel itself. The sweeping temper line is wonderfully visible along the polished blade, giving each sword the individual character that simply can't be replicated with a printed cosmetic finish.
