The tanto originated in feudal Japan as a short companion blade carried by members of the samurai class. Smaller than the katana and wakizashi, its compact proportions have made the tanto one of the most distinctive forms of traditional Japanese sword.

This decorative interpretation captures that unmistakable silhouette in miniature form.
