Description
Train with History.
Authentic handling.
Built for practice.
Designed by a master.
The Hanwei Tinker Early Medieval Sword ā Blunt is a purpose-built training sword created in collaboration with renowned sword designer Michael "Tinker" Pearce. Inspired by the classic Oakeshott Type XII swords of the High Middle Ages, it delivers historically accurate handling characteristics while providing the added safety required for martial arts training and re-enactment.
Unlike many training swords, the blunt version has been carefully engineered to mirror the balance and feel of its sharpened counterpart. A broad, flat fuller redistributes weight towards the edges, creating a lively, responsive sword while maintaining a safer profile for controlled practice.
Forged from durable 5160 spring steel, the 31.38-inch blade is built to withstand the demands of historical martial arts training. The elegant cruciform hilt provides both historical authenticity and excellent handling, while the leather-wrapped grip offers a secure, comfortable hold. Completing the package is a leather-covered wooden scabbard, allowing for safe transport and traditional presentation.
Whether you're studying Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA), participating in living history or expanding your medieval collection, this sword delivers the quality and performance that have made the Tinker Pearce range so highly respected.
