The Hanwei Practical Viking Sword has been purpose-built for the demands of historical re-enactment, offering authentic Viking styling with modern safety features and exceptional durability. Designed specifically to meet the needs of re-enactors, this practical sword delivers realistic handling while complying with the safety standards required by many living history organisations.

Crafted by Hanwei, the sword features a 28-inch blade forged from 1566 high carbon steel, fully tempered but supplied with unsharpened edges and a rounded safety tip. The broad fuller improves balance and responsiveness, while the 1/16-inch edge thickness helps provide the level of safety expected for controlled historical training and display.

The classically simple Viking hilt features a permanently mounted leather grip and riveted tang construction, ensuring excellent durability during repeated use. Completing the package is a robust glass-filled resin scabbard, designed to resist impacts, minimise blade corrosion and eliminate the swelling issues associated with traditional wooden scabbards. Its attractive wood-grain finish is intentionally left unfinished, allowing owners to customise it to their own taste.
