Description
The Sword of England's Greatest Knight.
Forged for honour.
Balanced for battle.
Built to last.
The Hanwei Marshall Knightly Sword, designed by Paul Chen, is a superb recreation of the legendary weapon associated with Sir William Marshal—widely regarded as the greatest knight in English history. Serving faithfully under Henry II, Richard the Lionheart and King John (Lackland), William Marshal became the very definition of medieval chivalry and battlefield excellence.
Based on an original preserved in a British museum, this exceptional single-handed sword faithfully captures the proportions, elegance and handling of one of England's finest medieval weapons.
The 33.25-inch blade is forged from 1566 high carbon steel and tempered to approximately HRC 54, providing an outstanding balance of strength, resilience and performance. A carefully executed full-length distal taper and central ridged fuller reduce weight without sacrificing durability, resulting in a remarkably agile sword that handles with speed and precision.
The leather-wrapped and laced grip, combined with the elegant crossguard and wheel pommel, reflects the understated beauty of authentic medieval swords. Completing this outstanding reproduction is a leather-covered scabbard fitted with steel mounts, making it equally suitable for display or collection.
