Description

The Sword of the Highland Legend.

Forged for Scotland.

Carried with honour.

Remembered through history.

Few swords are as instantly recognisable as the Scottish Basket Hilt Broadsword. Though basket-hilted swords appeared throughout Britain from the mid-16th century, they became forever linked with the fearless Highland warriors of the 17th and 18th centuries, whose courage and martial tradition made these weapons legendary.

The Hanwei Basket Hilt Broadsword, designed by Paul Chen, is a faithful reproduction of an original preserved in the prestigious Royal Armouries of England. Recreating a classic mid-18th century Glasgow-style hilt, this superb historical sword combines museum-quality authenticity with the exceptional craftsmanship for which Hanwei is renowned.

The 33.5-inch blade is forged from 1566 high carbon steel, offering outstanding durability and authentic proportions. The beautifully crafted stainless steel basket hilt faithfully replicates the original while providing excellent corrosion resistance and reduced maintenance. Completing the sword is a luxurious wire-wrapped genuine ray skin grip, paired with a traditional fabric-covered sueded leather basket liner, creating a level of authenticity rarely found in production swords.

Supplied with a leather-wrapped scabbard, this magnificent broadsword is a centrepiece worthy of any Scottish arms collection.

The pride of the Highlands.

The legacy of Scotland.
