DC Comics – Catwoman (Gotham City Sirens) Deluxe Art Scale 1:10 Statue | Iron Studios

🐈⬛ DC Comics – Catwoman (Gotham City Sirens) Deluxe Art Scale 1:10 Statue | Iron Studios

"I am Catwoman. Hear me roar."

Selina Kyle has clearly had a good night. Iron Studios have her sat on top of a safe she's already cracked, legs crossed, petting one of her kittens with that cheeky, serene feline smile. The safe's full of gold doubloons, and judging by her face it was barely a challenge for someone with her skills.

She's perched on an old wooden floor surrounded by the rest of her haul: bags of gold coins and bits of loot that nod to her partners in crime. There's a jack-in-the-box for the Maid of Mischief, Harley Quinn, and low plants and flowers for the Queen of the Green, Poison Ivy. This Deluxe version completes Iron Studios' Gotham City Sirens trio, alongside the Poison Ivy Deluxe and Harley Quinn Deluxe statues.

Catwoman first turned up in the very first issue of Batman in 1940, created by Bill Finger and Bob Kane, which makes her one of the oldest faces in the Caped Crusader's world. Orphaned young, she escaped the girls' orphanage she grew up in, and the story goes that she took her inspiration for Catwoman from watching Batman himself. Since then she's gone from cat burglar to anti-hero, bounty hunter and occasional ally of the Bat, trained in martial arts, boxing and street fighting by Wildcat. Cats flock to her, and her on-off thing with the Dark Knight is one of the longest-running romances in comics.

The Gotham City Sirens comics ran from 2009 to 2011, written by Paul Dini, the co-creator of Harley Quinn. Catwoman, Poison Ivy and Harley end up forced to team up to protect themselves, and Iron Studios' series reimagines the three of them from those books. One thing's for sure: it's bad luck for anyone who crosses her path.
