Description

Confederate Griswold & Gunnison Revolver (Brass) - USA 1860

Own a piece of American Civil War history with the Confederate Griswold & Gunnison Revolver (Brass).

This replica is made of metal and wood, with a simulated loading and firing mechanism and a rotating cylinder, finished with the distinctive brass frame of the original.

Inspired by the Colt 1851 Navy, the Griswold & Gunnison was the Confederacy’s answer to a shortage of steel – its distinctive frame was cast in brass, often melted down from church bells. Around 3,700 of these six-shot .36 calibre percussion revolvers were made between 1862 and 1864, making it the most widely produced Confederate revolver. Fans of Hell on Wheels will recognise it as the sidearm of Cullen Bohannon.
