Really nice decorative piece that also functions well. Nice crisp single action and the cap nipples rotate to exactly under the hammer. The underlever ramrod also works nicely. Beautiful.

Another addition to my collection of Denix replicas, the Colt Navy, to accompany the army model I’ve had for many years. I went for one of the decorative models, because that’s all that was available at the time of ordering, and I have to say that it is very pretty, almost too pretty to be realistic. It has a good weight, real wood grips and a nice, crisp single action. Cocking the hammer causes the cylinder to rotate and the nipple for a percussion cap comes perfectly into place under the hammer (far more so than the Peacemakers). A gentle squeeze on the trigger and a satisfying click. The ram-rod under the barrel can be released and operated, which is a nice touch. One minor niggle, I believe that when cocked the hammer should have a small notch in it that acts as the rear sight, otherwise, most satisfactory.
I have a large collection of old west stuff, this was to complete my Colt collection. It looks better than the old marshall holding it !!
