Toji Fushiguro should not exist in Jujutsu Kaisen's power system. The entire series is built around cursed energy - the negative emotion-derived power that sorcerers manipulate to fight curses and each other. Every major character in JJK has a relationship with cursed energy. Most of the series' tension comes from the gap between different characters' cursed energy levels and techniques.
Toji has none. Zero cursed energy. By the logic of the world Gege Akutami built, he should be invisible to curses - unable to perceive them, unable to fight them, certainly unable to kill Special Grade sorcerers at the height of their power.
Instead, he is one of the most dangerous people in the entire series. The absence of cursed energy is not a weakness. It is the point.
This guide covers every weapon Toji carries, the JJK cursed tool grading system, the other significant weapons in the series, and the UK replicas available from The Sword Stall.
Who is Toji Fushiguro?
Toji Fushiguro is Megumi Fushiguro's father and one of the most significant antagonists in Jujutsu Kaisen's early arcs. He was born into the Zenin clan - one of the three great sorcerer families - but cast out because he had no cursed energy whatsoever. The Zenin clan, whose identity is built entirely around cursed technique power, considered this a disgrace.
What the Zenin clan failed to account for was that the complete absence of cursed energy in a human body does not mean weakness. It means something else entirely. Without cursed energy, Toji's body compensated - his physical abilities developed to superhuman levels, and his cursed energy pathways, unable to generate power, instead became entirely resistant to others' techniques. He became functionally immune to cursed technique effects.
He left the Zenin clan, changed his name from Zenin Toji to Toji Fushiguro after the woman he married, took contract assassination work, and became known in the sorcerer world as the Sorcerer Killer. He killed for money. He had a son he abandoned. He fought for reasons that had nothing to do with the moral framework the series otherwise operates within, which is part of what makes him so effective as a character.
His arc in the Hidden Inventory arc - where he hunts Gojo Satoru and Geto Suguru in their youth - is one of the most technically complex and emotionally dense sequences in the entire series.
The cursed tool system in Jujutsu Kaisen
Before covering Toji's specific weapons it is worth understanding what cursed tools are and why they matter in JJK's power system.
Cursed tools are weapons or objects that have been imbued with cursed energy during their creation. They are graded on the same scale as curses and sorcerers:
Grade 4 - the weakest category. Functional but limited.
Grade 3 - reliable tools used by competent sorcerers.
Grade 2 and Grade 1 - increasingly powerful, increasingly rare.
Special Grade - the highest tier. Fewer than ten Special Grade cursed tools are confirmed to exist in the series. They have abilities that operate outside normal cursed technique logic.
For most sorcerers, cursed tools amplify their existing technique. For Toji - who has no technique - cursed tools are his entire arsenal. He carries multiple tools simultaneously, stored in a cursed spirit he uses specifically as a storage vessel, and deploys them depending on what the situation requires. The variety and quality of what he carries is a direct reflection of how seriously he takes the absence of any other option.
The Inverted Spear of Heaven
The Inverted Spear of Heaven is the most significant weapon Toji carries and one of the most dangerous objects in the entire JJK universe. It is a Special Grade cursed tool - the highest tier - with a single defining ability: it nullifies all cursed techniques within a certain radius of the blade's tip.
Not some techniques. All techniques. Including Infinity.
Infinity - Gojo Satoru's primary ability - is an automatic defensive technique that places an infinite mathematical progression between Gojo and any incoming attack. Nothing can reach him while Infinity is active because the intervening space can always be subdivided further. It is the technique that makes Gojo, at the height of his power, functionally untouchable.
The Inverted Spear of Heaven touches him anyway.
In the Hidden Inventory arc, Toji uses the Inverted Spear to bypass Infinity entirely, landing the first genuine hit on Gojo that the series depicts. The moment is one of JJK's most significant - not just as a fight sequence but as a demonstration of what the weapon means. If the most defensively impenetrable sorcerer in the series can be reached by this tool, it raises the question of what cannot be reached by it.
The weapon is subsequently lost during the events of the arc, which is why it does not appear in the main timeline of the series. Its absence from the present-day JJK world is deliberate - if Toji still had it, the power balance of the series would be different.
Our Deluxe Inverted Spear of Heaven is a stainless steel replica measuring 54cm overall with a 31cm blade, 4mm thickness and 1.1kg weight. Includes a wooden display stand. It is technically a spear or lance form rather than a dagger despite its compact size - the on-a-rope carry method Toji uses and the thrusting technique he applies confirm its function as a penetrating weapon rather than a slashing one.
The Chain of a Thousand Miles
The Chain of a Thousand Miles is the other Special Grade cursed tool Toji carries - and its ability is the conceptual opposite of the Inverted Spear. Where the Spear nullifies techniques, the Chain extends infinitely. It can stretch to any length without losing its physical properties, and things bound by it cannot escape by conventional means.
Toji uses it in combination with the Inverted Spear - the Chain to bind and control the distance, the Spear to close in and nullify. Together they represent a weapons system designed specifically to counter technique-based fighters who rely on distance and defensive abilities. Against a sorcerer whose power is their technique, the combination removes the technique and removes the ability to create safe distance simultaneously.
The Cleaver of Heaven
The Cleaver of Heaven is Toji's close-range blade - a large cleaver-form weapon that reflects his fighting philosophy. Direct, efficient, built for impact rather than precision. Where the Inverted Spear is the conceptually complex weapon, the Cleaver is the straightforward one. It does what it looks like it does.
Our Toji Cleaver of Heaven - cosplay safe wood is a wooden convention-safe version for cosplayers who want to represent Toji's arsenal at events. Lightweight and durable, designed for movement and display use rather than shelf display.
Other JJK weapons worth knowing
Toji is not the only JJK character whose weapon is significant to the series' weapon lore.
Kento Nanami's Ratio Technique Cleaver
Nanami's weapon is not technically a cursed tool in the traditional sense - it is the physical instrument of his Ratio Technique, which divides a target into ten segments and strikes the 7:3 ratio point, always hitting a weak spot regardless of the target's defences. The cleaver form reflects his character: methodical, efficient, completely without excess. He works overtime. The cleaver gets the work done.
Our Kento Nanami Cleaver - metal is a 420 stainless steel replica, 42cm overall, blunt edge. A clean, precise display piece that captures Nanami's aesthetic perfectly - nothing decorative, nothing unnecessary.
Yuji Itadori's Slaughter Demon
Itadori's primary weapon in the series is his body - his superhuman physical strength and the Divergent Fist technique that delays the impact of his cursed energy reinforcement to double the hit's force. The Slaughter Demon is a secondary weapon that appears in specific arcs. Our Itadori's Slaughter Demon replica is £55, currently 14 in stock.
Displaying JJK weapons
The JJK range displays particularly well as a grouped set. Toji's weapons - the Inverted Spear of Heaven on its wooden stand, the Cleaver of Heaven cosplay version, the Chain represented by its inclusion in the display - tell the complete story of his arsenal.
For a broader JJK display, the Nanami Cleaver and the Itadori Slaughter Demon alongside the Toji pieces represents the three major character weapon designs from the series currently available. Browse our anime swords collection for the full range including pieces from Demon Slayer, Bleach, One Piece and other series that pair naturally with the JJK range.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Inverted Spear of Heaven in JJK? The Inverted Spear of Heaven is a Special Grade cursed tool - the highest tier of weapon in Jujutsu Kaisen - with the ability to nullify all cursed techniques within range of its tip. This includes Infinity, the otherwise impenetrable defensive technique of Gojo Satoru. It is wielded by Toji Fushiguro during the Hidden Inventory arc and is subsequently lost. Our stainless steel replica is 54cm overall with a 31cm blade and includes a wooden display stand.
Who is Toji Fushiguro in JJK?
Toji Fushiguro is Megumi Fushiguro's father and one of the most significant antagonists in the Hidden Inventory arc. Born into the Zenin clan with zero cursed energy, he was cast out but developed superhuman physical abilities as compensation. He became immune to cursed techniques through the complete absence of cursed energy pathways and worked as a contract assassin known as the Sorcerer Killer. His battle with Gojo Satoru and Geto Suguru in their youth is one of the most technically complex fight sequences in the series.
What is a Special Grade cursed tool?
Special Grade is the highest tier in Jujutsu Kaisen's grading system for curses, sorcerers and cursed tools. Fewer than ten Special Grade cursed tools are confirmed to exist in the series. They have abilities that operate outside normal cursed technique logic - like the Inverted Spear of Heaven's total technique nullification and the Chain of a Thousand Miles' infinite extension. Most sorcerers will never encounter a Special Grade cursed tool in their careers.
Why does Toji use cursed tools if he has no cursed energy?
Because cursed tools are his only option. Sorcerers with techniques use cursed tools to amplify their abilities. Toji, with no technique, uses cursed tools as his entire arsenal - they are the only way he can interact with the cursed world at all. The irony is that this constraint makes him more precisely armed than most sorcerers. He carries only what he needs, in the highest grades available, selected specifically to counter technique-based fighters.
What is the Ratio Technique?
The Ratio Technique is Kento Nanami's innate technique. It divides a target into ten segments and strikes the 7:3 ratio point - always hitting a structural weak point regardless of what the target is. A sorcerer, a curse, a wall - everything has a 7:3 ratio point and the technique always finds it. The cleaver Nanami carries is the instrument of this technique.
Is Infinity unbreakable in JJK?
No - the Inverted Spear of Heaven nullifies it entirely. The Six Eyes and Infinity together make Gojo Satoru the most defensively impenetrable character in the series under normal circumstances. The Inverted Spear removes that circumstance. The Prison Realm is the other method used against Gojo - but that is a plot-level weapon rather than a combat tool.
