Named after Japan's beautiful island of Yakushima, famous for its ancient cedar forests, this katana features a folded 1095 high-carbon steel blade with genuine clay tempering, complemented by traditional handle construction and genuine stingray skin.

⚔️ Hand Forged, Folded & Clay Tempered

Yakushima features a hand-forged 1095 high-carbon steel blade, repeatedly heated, hammered and folded to create its distinctive layered construction.

The blade undergoes differential clay tempering, a traditional technique that produces a harder cutting edge while retaining greater toughness along the spine.

This process can also create a natural hamon (temper line), a hallmark of traditional Japanese sword craftsmanship.

🏯 Traditional Japanese Handle Construction

The wooden tsuka (handle) is covered in genuine stingray skin (samegawa), providing the distinctive textured finish associated with traditional Japanese swords.

This is completed with traditional cotton handle wrapping (tsukamaki), creating the classic diamond-pattern appearance of a samurai katana.
