Escanor is a member of the Seven Deadly Sins, the Kingdom of Liones' strongest protectors in the anime and manga series Seven Deadly Sins. His power level depends on the Sun's position in the sky and he's most powerful when the Sun is at its peak in noon. During sunrise, his personality drastically changes from modest and humble to arrogant and prideful, earning him the title "Lion's Sin of Pride".

Escanor wields his iconic one-handed weapon in all of his battles, the sacred treasure the Divine Axe Rhitta. The Rhitta is a giant crescent moon-shaped axe with white tipped spears and an intricate blue handle featuring a semi-circular guard with four spikes. When Escanor says the command "Sacred Treasure Release", he instantly releases the power stored inside the Rhitta, in a tremendous wave of heat and light as magnificent as the sun.
